A Pink Flamingo, native to warm environments, like say, Florida, was found in upstate New York!!
And there couldn’t have been a better person to find it.
Chris Evers was out on his boat on a lake in Westchester, NY, when he spotted a pink flamingo out in the middle of the water.
Evers just happened to be the director and founder of Animal Embassy, an education center that brings rescued exotic creatures to school and libraries.
So he lassoed it with his fishing line and took the bird back home, and let it swim around his bathtub.
There was an ID tag on the birds leg which led him to call it’s owner, who lived 15 miles away.
The man came and picked up the bird immediately.
Apparently the flamingo was missing for two days when Evers found it.
The owner had a private-zoo and had the proper state permit to keep a flock of flamingos.
The owner asked that his name not be revealed for “security reasons.”
We’re assuming ever since the whole Ohio animals massacre, private-zoo owners are trying to stay far from the public eye.
