Woman Left Elderly Mother Home Alone With DOZENS Of Dogs That Killed Her In Brutal Attack, Say Cops!

A woman in Colorado has been arrested after her pets took the life of her mom.

According to a press release from the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, 47-year-old Jessica Hoff (above) was arrested and charged with criminal negligence on Friday for the death of her 76-year-old mother, LaVonne Hoff, last month, as well as over 50 counts of animal cruelty. And what happened to the mom is beyond horrible. Police allege the woman left LaVonne at home alone with a bunch of loose dogs — and they killed her.

Law enforcement says they went to Jessica and her mother’s house in Colorado City on February 3 after they received a report about an unconscious woman. When officers arrived, they found several dogs running around and “another approximately two dozen dogs and seven birds in cages in the home.” Cops also discovered LaVonne “unresponsive.” She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, and an autopsy later revealed she died from injuries sustained in a dog attack.

So terrible…

But why was her daughter arrested if this had been an animal attack? Per the press release, authorities say LaVonne “had dementia and required 24-hour care.” However, detectives found out during an extensive investigation that Jessica allegedly left her mom home by herself with her dogs and birds to run errands 25 miles away in Pueblo. The dogs that were loose in the home then attacked her while the woman was out.

Then, upon a search of another property Jessica owns in Colorado City, police found she had 54 dogs and seven birds in her possession, and they hadn’t been taken care of properly at all. The sheriff’s office claimed in the press release:

“The dogs and birds were found living in unsanitary conditions and several of the dogs were in poor health. The Sheriff’s Office worked with Animal Law Enforcement to seize the dogs and the birds.”

Just awful. Jessica has been charged with criminal negligence resulting in the death of an at-risk adult, along with 54 counts of aggravated cruelty to animals. Court records obtained by People revealed she was booked into the Pueblo County Jail, while jail records show her bond was set to $50,000. She will appear in court on Thursday.

What happened to LaVonne is absolutely horrifying. May she rest in peace.
