HORRIBLE!
Police in Germany are looking for the person who killed 15 Chilean Flamingos over the weekend at Frankfurt Zoo, and the bad guy even beheaded some!
Reportedly, the perpetrator sneaked into the zoo at night, murdering nine on Friday and six on Saturday.
Right now, they’re doing autopsies to see what happened because Zoo director Manfred Niekisch has an inneresting theory. He says that foxes may be the culprits, due to bite marks on the birds. He also added that the mammals could have chowed down on the birds postmortem though.
After the first incident, the zoo added security around the enclosure, but that didn’t stop the blood-thirsty bird lover.
We’re curious why the extra security didn’t help though. And also, if it’s a fox problem, what are the odds that they’d strike twice when they hadn’t done it before?
The saddest part of all of this is that, according to the zoo, flamingos won’t make noise if they’re in danger, so no one even knew!
Hopefully the autopsies bring some closure to this situation because there are still too many questions.
