David Letterman Breaks The News Of His Retirement To His Late Show Audience! Watch The Sad Moment HERE!

Earlier today, the news came down the wire that David Letterman announced his retirement this afternoon to a packed audience for his Late Show.
A representative for Worldwide Pants Incorporated has since confirmed the news of David Letterman’s retirement and shared the following from his speech made to the Thursday’s taping audience:

“The man who owns this network, Leslie Moonves, he and I have had a relationship for years and years and years, and we have had this conversation in the past, and we agreed that we would work together on this circumstance and the timing of this circumstance. And I phoned him just before the program, and I said, ├óΓé¼╦£Leslie, it├óΓé¼Γäós been great, you├óΓé¼Γäóve been great, and the network has been great, but I├óΓé¼Γäóm retiring. I just want to reiterate my thanks for the support from the network, all of the people who have worked here, all of the people in the theater, all the people on the staff, everybody at home, thank you very much. What this means now, is that Paul [Shaffer] and I can be married.”

Ha! Always gotta end things with a laugh!
When he addressed the timetable for this departure from his three decade-plus career, he shared that “it will be at least a year or so ├óΓé¼┬ª 2015.”
We’re told from there, the Ed Sullivan Theater audience got to their feet to give him a standing ovation!
