After David Letterman announced his retirement last week, we started to think about who could possibly take the legendary late night host’s place!
Because really, Dave is just so legendary!
Legen…wait for it…DARY!
And then it hit us…
Who’s talented, good with people, and looks AH-mazing in a suit?
Um…Neil Patrick Harris, anyone?!?
YES!!!
He’d be perfect as the next host of the Late Show!
Someone call him up and offer him the job!
Wait. What? NPH already said he doesn’t want the gig?!
But…why?!?
According to Neil, taking over for Dave would just be WAY too much work!
When asked if he’d be interested in the job, he explained:
“I’m super focused on Hedwig at the moment, so that hasn’t even been a part of the conversation at all. But I’m a big fan of CBS and Les [Moonves.] It would be an asinine amount of work.├óΓé¼┬¥
Hmm. Well he didn’t flat out say no, at least!
Plus, when has hard work ever scared you, dude!
You’ve hosted the Emmys, the Tonys, and the Speedos-only pool parties in our dreams!
Not to mention your award-winnning role on How I Met Your Mother!
And now you’re crushing it on Broadway!
Neil, for the love of God, think this through!
You’re PERFECT for this!
Siiiiigh.
We’ll love you no matter what you do. But seeing you behind that desk every night at 11:35 p.m. on CBS would be very, very, VERY cool!
