Stephen Colbert is the new replacement for David Letterman
on The Late Show when he retires in 2015!
And just like Nostradamus, one special pal of the Comedy Central host predicted the future announcement news!
In an interview with Vulture on Wednesday night, Jon Stewart revealed that Stephen would be perfect for the gig, and really sang his praises:
“I know someone who would be amazing. [Stephen] is a uniquely talented individual. He’s wonderful in Colbert Report, but he├óΓé¼Γäós got gears he hasn├óΓé¼Γäót even shown people yet. He would be remarkable. He’s done an amazing job with just that very narrow cast of character, but he├óΓé¼Γäós got a lot more he can show. He├óΓé¼Γäós got some skill sets that are really applicable, interviewing-wise, but also he├óΓé¼Γäós a really, really good actor and also an excellent improvisational comedian. He’s also got great writing skills. He├óΓé¼Γäós got a lot of the different capacities. Being able to expand upon [those] would be exciting.”
We couldn’t be more thrilled!
The Colbert Report is HIGHlarious, and we agree with Jon that Stephen will only flourish in his new comfy seat!
Now let’s just hope his recent Twitter racism controversy doesn’t cause people shy away from the iconic show!
