You know those situations where you realize the best course of action is to just keep your mouth shut? Well, this is certainly one of those moments.
The NFL has gotten a lot of attention in just its first week after Ray Rice was cut from the Baltimore Ravens and suspended indefinitely after video emerged showing him beating his now wife, Janay Rice.
Well Floyd Mayweather Jr. decided to weigh in on the controversy, and he’s actually claiming the NFL went too hard on the former running back.
The undefeated boxer stirred the pot when he gave his two cents and defended Ray, saying the league shouldn’t have altered his previous 2-game suspension:
“I think there’s a lot worse things that go on in other people’s households, also. It’s just not caught on video, if that’s safe to say.”
This is wrong on so many levels, the first being he is completely belittling the horrible crimes and violence Ray is guilty of.
What’s worse is Floyd has been involved in a domestic violence case or two or seven himself and is actually being sued by his ex-fiancee Shantel Jackson for battery, assault, and much more.
Needless to say, this is probably a situation where the boxer should introduce his foot to his mouth.
