This weekend, New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter played his very last baseball game for the Bronx Bombers as he prepares for retirement, and folks in the Big Apple are finding out that saying goodbye isn’t always easy!
However, the geniuses at Carnegie Deli have come up with the perfect sendoff, as they’re honoring the iconic captain with his very own sandwich, called the Derek Jeter Triple Club Sandwich!
A double club sandwich may have been better since he WAS number 2 and everything, but hey, we’re not the sandwich-making experts here!!

So what comes on this mile-high meal? Well the special sandwich comes with a pile of turkey and bacon, topped off with several slices of american cheese, tomato, and lettuce all served on white toast!
Obviously the next question is, how much does one of these bad boys cost?? Well if you were hoping for something in the neighborhood of 2 bucks, you might want to go somewhere else, because this gigantic club will set you back $28!!!
Yikes! That’s an awful lot for a sandwich!! And it doesn’t even have edible gold on it like the world’s most expensive burger does!!

Look, we understand that Derek Jeter is kind of a big deal in New York, but we can’t help but wonder if anyone will be willing to spend 28 bucks on a sandwich just because his name is on it!!
