
So sad and premature…
Former professional baseball player Darryl Hamilton was found dead late Sunday in Houston, Texas.
The 50-year-old was shot several times, apparently after a domestic dispute with his girlfriend, 44-year-old Monica Jordan.

Jordan, the mother of Hamilton’s 13-month-old son, was also found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in another part of the family’s home.
The young child was left unharmed but alone in the home until police arrived.
Hamilton, who played for five Major League Baseball teams between 1988 and 2001, was an analyst for MLB Network and active on Twitter talking baseball and sharing pictures of his children.

Writers and reporters around baseball took to Twitter to reflect on Hamilton’s upbeat attitude and demeanor as they tried to make sense of his death:
