Wrong sport, we know, but Jake Gyllenhaal could have taken a bit of a bigger fashion risk at the premiere of his new boxing movie Southpaw in New York on Monday.
The 34-year-old leading man went with a traditional grey suit that just didn’t offer much pop to the red carpet.
But since it is a sports movie, we’ll give Jake a pass for going so conservative.

On the other hand, Jake’s been getting plenty of Oscar buzz for the role, so maybe a clean shave would make him seem a little happier!
Regardless of his performance at the premiere, make sure to catch Southpaw also starring Rachel McAdams and Forest Whitaker when it hits theaters July 24!
