A vacationer’s nightmare!
Passengers on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship were asked to stay inside their cabins when the ship encountered rough seas!
The Anthem of the Seas left Cape Liberty, New Jersey on Saturday afternoon and was expected to arrive in Port Canaveral, Florida on Monday.
But the captain instructed everyone on board to go back to their staterooms after the ship experienced extreme wind and sea conditions on Sunday.

Though not all was lost — Royal Caribbean tried to make up for mother nature putting a damper on the vacations of customers by giving them complimentary access to their minibars.
The cruise company said there were no injuries reported, issuing the following statement:
“On Sunday, February 7, while sailing to Port Canaveral, Florida, Anthem of the Seas experienced extreme wind and sea conditions, with wind speeds higher than what was forecasted. In an abundance of caution, the Captain asked all guests to stay in their stateroom until the weather improved. At this time there have not been any serious injuries reported. The ship has sustained some damage to the public areas and guest staterooms, which in no way affect the sea-worthiness of the ship.”
But it doesn’t look like they want to risk any more damage.
Due to weather forecasts, Royal Caribbean announced that the ship was turning around and sailing back to New Jersey:
