So sad.
On Tuesday, the Oakland Athletics revealed they lost one of their minor league players. The team announced that pitcher Sean Murphy passed away at the age of 27.
According to the A’s statement, the athlete died suddenly in Arizona on Monday. The club took to Twitter to share their condolences for the baseball player’s untimely passing, sharing:

Most recently, the Pennsylvania native pitched for the Midland RockHounds, the Double-A affiliate of the A’s major league club. But, he hadn’t played since 2014.
Sean was benched for the 2015 season following his Tommy John surgery, and then was suspended this year by the MLB for 50 games after testing positive for “drugs of abuse.”
While we don’t know which substance was in the right-hander’s system, we do know it wasn’t a performance-enhancing drug, and that this was the second test he had failed.
