A-Lister Denzel Washington is known for his selection of hit films and his most recent project with acclaimed director/producer Tony Scott was on the fast track to start production in a few weeks. But, now, the flick, Unstoppable, has come to an abrupt halt as the studio thinks the cost is too steep for the action-heavy film.
The recession has hit one of the biggest stars on the planet!
The lastest Washington-Scott action flicker, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, failed at the box-office and it has made the studio wary about giving the green-light to another pricey project.
Therefore, negotiations on the salaries of Washington, Scott, and fine Chris Pine, who is playing opposite Denzel, will have to be settled first before the appropriate budget for the physical production can be reached.
Tough economy means less movie magic, we’re afraid. But if Denzel takes a pay cut from his usual fee of $20 million a flick, maybe there is a chance it will see the light of day.
