The Abbey Road recording in London is up for grabs and Sir Paul McCartney is hoping it can be saved from being sold off.
The studio has become almost synonymous with The Beatles, with a record named in it’s honor and the famous cover shot crossing the street outside of it, but it has also been home to other great artists like U2 and Michael Jackson.
EMI, the label that is selling the building, is hoping to make $20 million off of the building and Paul is hoping others will take action. He told the BBC:
“There are a few people who have been associated with the studio for a long time who were talking about mounting some bid to save it. I sympathize with them. I hope they can do something, it’d be great.”
We bet those folks trying to save Abbey Road really appreciate your sympathy. Bet they would appreciate a big check more!
