Aaron Carter‘s mom is accusing the late singer’s fiancée, Melanie Martin, of allegedly stealing money from his accounts!
According to TMZ on Thursday, Jane Schneck filed court documents to oppose the final accounting for her son’s estate after he died in November 2022. The mother explained she had a few issues with the accounting report submitted by the court-appointed estate administrator, starting with the fact that she thinks Aaron’s name, image, and likeness are worth more than listed. Jane alleges that in early 2023, Melanie started a website under her name to sell Aaron Carter-themed merchandise, which she promoted using his name and likeness.

Then, she claims Melanie made “illegal withdrawals” from the pop star’s accounts from November 7, 2022, which is two days after he passed away, to November 9, 2022. Aaron’s baby mama allegedly took a whopping $24,530.57! Whoa!
Jane says she informed the estate administrator about the problem and offered to purchase the rights to Aaron’s name and likeness for $30,000. However, she claims the admin rejected the offer over the phone. It is unknown why, but Jane feels the estate administrator is “partial to Melanie.”
In the filing, Jane insists “[Melanie] is a good mother to” Aaron’s son Prince Carter “and that she takes care of his daily physical and emotional needs.” She also “fully accepts her fair share of blame for creating the bad relationship between her and Melanie” and has not reacted to her alleged online attacks for over a year.
Jane also notes she doesn’t wish “legal harm” to Melanie and is “willing to believe that [Melanie] truly believed she was entitled to the money she took from the estate.” Instead, according to the filing, her primary concern is protecting the financial future of her grandson, Prince. Now, Jane wants to disqualify Melanie from acting as a trustee of the 4-year-old’s trust and ensure she isn’t in control of Aaron’s name and likeness rights.
Melanie, however, is denying all the allegations! She tells TMZ that “Jane is uninformed on Aaron’s financials,” and that they also had joint accounts. Melanie also claims Aaron gave her the LOVE business, “which he said on Instagram Live in the past.”
The pair, sadly, have not been on good terms for a while. Back in December, Melanie accused Jane on Facebook of trying to steal Prince’s inheritance:
“Hi guys, I’m just going to say it straight up: Aaron’s mother is trying to gain rights to Prince’s inheritance and his name. I have to pay a lot of court fees and lawyer fees in the next few months, so I’ll be working extra hard on Love Merch and bartending in the meantime to pay for all the court fees and ensure my son gets Aaron’s rightful inheritance. Aaron didn’t have much family but he did have fans and you all continue to care about Aaron’s family which is Prince and I.”
