Aaron Carter Reveals He Lied About 2017 Rehab Appearance, Admits To Huffing Aerosols

Aaron Carter The Doctors TV Interview

Aaron Carter continues to come clean.

We’ve already been busy reporting this week on the 31-year-old singer’s appearance on the daytime TV show The Doctors, but as we’re learning now, there’s even more to the story — both for Carter, and his mother, who he’s trying to get into treatment for her alcohol abuse.

During this week’s interview on the show, which marked the pop star’s return to the health series for the first time since 2017, Carter decided to open up about a lie he’d told in the past: he didn’t tell the truth to the show’s medical professionals about his reason for going to rehab in the first place.

The pop prince owned up to it to hosts Dr. Travis Stork and Dr. Judy Ho while on air, saying (below):

“I have to apologize to you, because I lied to you when I came here. I have a truth I am going to reveal right now. The reason why I went to rehab is because of huffing aerosols, duster cans, that’s why I went. I lied to you and I’m sorry. I’m here to make amends, do the first step of 12-step, admit that I was powerless and I can believe in something greater than myself. Second, you know, make amends for my shortcomings.”

Wow…

During that infamous appearance several years ago — where the performer made headlines over his unhealthy, jaunt-looking appearance — Carter tested negative for illegal drugs, but was apparently on Xanax and opiates. He admitted this week that the previous show was a period of “denial” for him, too, but it sounds like things are already getting a little bit better.

At one point, Carter — who continues to maintain that he hasn’t taken any hard drugs in the two years since, except for a painkiller prescription he temporarily had after dental work — looked sincerely at Stork and Ho, and said (below):

“You guys saved my life and since that happened, I had to get my s**t together.”

No kidding!

Eventually, though, the focus of the show turned back to his mother, Jane, and her “decades-old alcohol addiction,” which reportedly includes “two to three pints of vodka, every day, for 17 years straight.” Unreal…

At one point, Carter admitted (below):

“Alcohol is her best friend… She’s ruined all of her relationships. What scares me the most is that she is dying. I feel like if she doesn’t get the help now, she’s going to die in the next 6 months to a year.”

Wow…

Eventually, though, the show’s medical staff — with a major assist from Aaron — convinced Jane to at least try to get some help. And so begins the road to recovery.

Love it!

As Aaron himself knows, you’ve got to start somewhere.

That family has a lot of issues to sort out, of course, but here’s hoping they take it one day at a time from here, and get all the help and support and love that they need!
