New York is a melting pot, where anyone is welcome to come and call it their home.
Unless you’re a wild turkey.
Every year, residents of Ocean Breeze say sometimes it gets so packed with turkeys, they can’t let their kids outside to play, let alone drive down the street.
Officials say about 100 turkeys wander the area.
Crazy.
The problem started in 1999 when a woman released her 9 turkeys, and they’ve been multiplying ever since.
Area residents are frustrated because nothing is being done about, also, city law protects wild turkeys from hunters, so there’ll be no vigilante justice either.
Looks like the turkeys are there to stay.
We guess the residents and turkeys will just have to learn to coexist.
