Um, WHAT?!
In Al Pacino‘s new memoir Sonny Boy, out last week, the actor detailed a drunken night he was almost kidnapped by a fan! Yikes! The 84-year-old recalled going out for drinks with Gene Hackman‘s brother Richard Hackman during a “cross-country journey.” He “got so drunk that I could not find my way home.” That’s when a woman offered him a ride, he wrote:
“A woman said to me, ‘Oh, I’ll drive you home.’ And without a second thought, I got into her car with her.”

Once in the car, the Scarface star quickly realized she wasn’t taking him where he’d asked, adding:
“But as we drove, even in my daze, I could recognize that she was not taking me back to where I was staying. I said to her, ‘What is going on here?’ And she said straight out, ‘I’m kidnapping you.’ “
She just said it?? WOW!
Al “was well-known” at that time since this incident was after he made The Godfather — and he was prepared to do whatever it took to get the hell outta the scary situation. He recalled that the driver’s behavior “was not” just “some aggressive flirtation,” reflecting:
“I am from the South Bronx. When I see some crazy person trying to do something to me, I know how to escape. I said, ‘No, you’re not. I’m getting out.’ She said, ‘No, no,’ and she kept driving.”
He then threatened to jump if she didn’t change her mind, he noted:
“I opened the door as if to jump out of the car. I was a little drunk, but I was ready to leap from a moving car if I had to. This ain’t happening to me, man.”
Miraculously, he didn’t have to jump because “she closed the door and took me home.”
Whoa!
He’s lucky! We’re honestly surprised that worked! But good thing it did!
