Alyssa Milano has revealed that she was sexually assaulted at a pop concert when she was just 19-years-old.
The actress was protesting Brett Kavanaugh‘s Supreme Court nomination with fellow activists and constituents in the office of Republican Senator Susan Collins when she tearfully shared her story in a Twitter video:

“From behind me, I felt a hand up my skirt, and I was punched repeatedly in the vagina. I couldn’t turn around. I looked to the stage, and I looked to the security guards, and I said, “Please help me.” And they couldn’t help me. They shook their head. I managed to break free, and I climbed up the stage to get away from my predator.”

She continued to explain that she kept the assault a secret for so long “because I didn’t know who it was to tell on.”

Alyssa is credited with further popularizing the #MeToo movement after tweeting out a message to gauge how widespread sexual assault and harassment is beyond Hollywood, following the allegations from over a dozen women, including former Charmed costar Rose McGowan, against Harvey Weinstein.

The Me Too creator is Tarana Burke.
Thank you for sharing your story, Alyssa.
