Amanda Bynes' Mom Feels Her Daughter 'Isn't In Any Capacity To Make Any Decisions About Her Care'

Amanda Bynes wants her conservatorship changed, but her mother Lynn doesn't think that's such a good idea

Just as Amanda Bynes has feelings about the current state of her conservatorship, so too does her mother Lynn, apparently.

The What A Girl Wants star is actively seeking to have a hearing over some of the requirements and safeguards in place, as she noted in a video published to social media over the weekend. But just because a hearing may take place, that doesn’t necessarily mean anything will change.

As you likely already know, Amanda’s conservatorship is centered under the direction of Lynn, and has been since 2014 following a public meltdown and an involuntary psychiatric hold having been placed on the now 33-year-old former child star. This means that whatever changes may come, they will have to be done with Lynn as an active party in the discussion.

A source close to the family spoke about it to Us Weekly on Monday. While it sounds like her momma is open to Amanda airing out some of her problems with it, things are (probably) not going to change very much:

“Amanda’s mother doesn’t have any issue with her daughter requesting a hearing regarding the conservatorship. Lynn feels Amanda isn’t in any capacity to make any decisions about her care or treatment. Lynn will request that Amanda remain in a controlled environment.”

For the former fashion student, that would mean continuing on in some form of in-patient treatment center — the exact one she criticized in her video posted two days ago.

As you’ll recall, at the time, the Easy A star took issue with the treatment center’s cost, saying:

“I have been going to a treatment center that charges $5,200 a month. There’s no reason why I shouldn’t go to a therapist who takes my insurance for $5,000 less a month. This is why I’ve asked to see the judge next week regarding this conservatorship issue.”

It’s important to focus on efficient, cost-effective care, for sure, but Amanda may not have much of a choice here depending upon Lynn’s sway in whatever hearing may take place. Of course, that’s aside from the timing of her concerns.

The She’s The Man star’s recent engagement to Paul Michael may also throw things for a loop. From what we’ve been reporting it’s clear her mother will get final legal say on any potential marriage, and things haven’t been looking so promising on that front. Yeah… Save the drama for your momma has never been taken so literally… LOLz!

What do U think, Perezcious readers? Will Amanda be heard in her conservatorship hearing — and will anything change with her treatment?! Or is she better off getting round-the-clock care and attention as she continues to navigate a particularly tough time in her life??
