We are sad to report yet another setback on Amanda Bynes‘ ongoing journey to recovery.
The 33-year-old actress turned designer is currently staying in a sober living group home after going through a recent drug relapse, The Blast reports.

Sources close to the star who spoke with the outlet say Amanda is “not doing well.” Bynes was allegedly advised to enter her new living situation by friends, family, and doctors who feel its “the best place” for her right now.
As we reported earlier this year, the Nickelodeon alum checked herself into rehab for drug addiction and mental health issues back in January, shortly after announcing her Hollywood comeback.
According to the insiders, at the time, the troubled starlet just wasn’t ready to be back in the spotlight in Hollywood. And it wasn’t just the headlines; even going to auditions was “too much, too soon.”

It’s unfortunate to hear this news, especially when it seemed like Amanda was in a good head space after graduating with an Associates Degree from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising just a few months ago in June — even with her existing legal woes!
However, it appears there were a few signs right under our noses that might’ve hinted this relapse was coming…
The sources allege the What A Girl Wants star’s recent Instagram activity served as a clear indicator that something was off. Apparently Bynes’ new pink hairdo was one of those signs.
Additionally, the former child star reposted a dark meme about feeling sad just one week ago. See for yourself (below):

The All That alum captioned the post with “Lol,” but if the meme’s sentiment holds true for her, nothing feels very funny about this current situation.
Amanda previously opened up about her history with drugs — including marijuana, molly, ecstasy, cocaine, and Adderall — when she graced the cover of Paper magazine for their November 2018 issue.
In her interview, she candidly admitted to smoking weed at 16-years-old before moving on to the aforementioned harder drugs. By the time she started working on the movie Hall Pass in 2010, the actress confessed Adderall tablets had become her drug of choice.
She then also offered words of wisdom for anyone struggling with substance abuse:
“My advice to anyone who is struggling with substance abuse would be to be really careful because drugs can really take a hold of your life… Everybody is different, obviously, but for me, the mixture of marijuana and whatever other drugs and sometimes drinking really messed up my brain. It really made me a completely different person. I actually am a nice person. I would never feel, say or do any of the things that I did and said to the people I hurt on Twitter… There are gateway drugs and thankfully I never did heroin or meth or anything like that but certain things that you think are harmless, they may actually affect you in a more harmful way. Be really, really careful because you could lose it all and ruin your entire life like I did.”
We wish her well as she works towards getting back to that healthy place again!
