We all knew it was coming, but it doesn’t make this any less SAD!
Following in the footsteps of his co-star Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg has officially quit Saturday Night Live after seven seasons!
He says in a statement:
“It’s an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life. Obviously it’s not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back.”
Seeing as this past year hosted the last ever addition of Laser Cats and then the line in Lazy Sunday 2 in which he rapped “On these New York streets I hone my fake rap penmanship. That’s how it began, and that’s how I’m-a finish it,” we’re at least glad to know he paid tribute to the Digital Shorts that made us all realize just how great he really was!
It’s the end of an era! Especially if Jason Sudeikis confirms what we’re all expecting to happen and we lose him, too!
They’re going to be a tough act to follow, new and remaining Saturday Night Live players!
Good-bye, Andy! Thanks for all of the laughs, and we look forward to seeing where your career takes you!
