This may sound like the beginning of a fixed boxing/mob related murder mystery but it seems what happened was, while still sad, more ordinary.
Garip Erkuyumcu, a 73-year-old Turkish man, was found dead in his London hotel room. He apparently suffered a heart attack.
The head of the Turkish Boxing Federation said a colleague found him dead in bed on Thursday.
He was to assist refs during the boxing matches at the London Summer Games.
His body will be flown back to Turkey next week.
