We just became A$AP Rocky‘s biggest fans!
The rapper is taking a stand against homophobia in hip hop!!!
He is sick and tired of fans believing that the entire hip hop world is against equal rights for the gay community.
In an interview with Alexander Wang for Interview Magazine, the Goldie rapper advocated:
├óΓé¼┼ôSo now that I├óΓé¼Γäóm here and I├óΓé¼Γäóve got a microphone in my hand and about 6,000 people watching me, I need to tell them how I feel. For instance, one big issue in hip hop is the gay thing. It├óΓé¼Γäós 2013, and it├óΓé¼Γäós a shame that, to this day, that topic still gets people all excited. It├óΓé¼Γäós crazy. And it makes me upset that this topic even matters when it comes to hip hop, because it makes it seem like everybody in hip hop is small-minded or stupid — and that├óΓé¼Γäós not the case. I treat everybody equal, and so I want to be sure that my listeners and my followers do the same if they├óΓé¼Γäóre gonna represent me. And if I├óΓé¼Γäóm gonna represent them, then I also want to do it in a good way.├óΓé¼┬¥
We COULD NOT agree more.
We know that there have been a few other people from the rapping scene that have been vocal about the subject, but we are VERY happy to know that we have another celebrity on board.
Homophobia on any level is just NOT OKAY and it is up to the most influential to be role models!!!
