Baseball season may have just started, but Mr. Met is already over it.
The New York Mets‘ mascot was NOT happy during Wednesday night’s 7-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers, and took out his frustrations by flashing his “middle” finger at a fan!

Video of the foul-acting baseball head was posted to Twitter by fan Tony De Lucia, who claimed he was just leaning over the railing for a high-five when the usually-cheerful mascot instead flipped him the bird:

Whoa! Rough night, Mr.???
While some might find this act of defiance funny — particularly because Mr. Met only has four digits on each hand (technically he HAS no middle finger!) — fans were extremely upset given how young kids look up to the beloved MLB mascot:

A Mets official responded to the controversy, telling The AP more than one person wears the costume during each season — and the person performing Wednesday night will not do so again. The club said in a statement:
“We apologize for the inappropriate action of this employee. We do not condone this type of behavior. We are dealing with this matter internally.”
Sounds like Mr. Met needs to sit out a few games.
