Some Psycho 'Deliberately Released' Containers Of BEDBUGS At A Pennsylvania Walmart!

Most people who have dealt with bedbugs wouldn’t wish them on their worst enemy.

One incredibly sick f**k would, however, attempt to release them just for kicks — at least that’s what police in Pennsylvania are saying after two containers of the obstinate insects were found hidden inside a local Walmart.

According to the BBC, a manager at the retail giant in Edinboro, Pennsylvania found the bedbugs last week in a pill bottle that was jammed inside a coat for sale. Detectives believe the blood-sucking pests were left at the store “deliberately,” state trooper Cindy Schick told the outlet, but have yet to identify a suspect or motive.

After the first pill bottle of bugs was found hidden inside a boy’s jacket in the store’s clothing department on January 2, a health and safety company was called to the store and confirmed that the species were bedbugs.

The pest control official then found more bedbugs crawling around a men’s fitting room. Two days later, a second closed pill bottle containing dead bedbugs was found in the men’s clothing department.

Despite the initial outbreak, Walmart says there’s no evidence of an infestation at the store. A spokesperson for the retailer told the BBC that Walmart was cooperating with the investigation, adding:

“Our third-party pest management service has visited the store, and after conducting a thorough review found no evidence of an infestation. We believe this to be an isolated incident and are taking all the necessary steps to help ensure a safe environment for customers and associates.”

Bedbug infestations are said to be an extremely traumatic ordeal, as the pests are difficult to remove and have overtime started to evolve into an oddly invincible species. The pests, which feast on the blood of their sleeping victims, can live for up to a year without a blood meal; new studies found that some bedbugs in the US have even developed a resistance to popular pesticides.

Oh, and one can “get” these evil hitchhikers basically anywhere. While many believe they only come from hotels and motels, the list of places bedbugs have been found is unfortunately much longer.

Per ActionPest.com, you can get bedbugs from buses, trains, planes, cruise liners, and taxi cabs; office buildings; city hall; colleges and universities; fire stations; nursing homes; daycares; high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools; federal buildings; police stations; libraries; theaters; a friend’s house; the home of a family member; and your workplace.

We’ll also add “your local Walmart” to that already extensive list.
