In sad news, Bethenny Frankel‘s first dog Cookie passed away on Monday after suffering multiple seizures over the weekend.
The Real Housewives of New York starlet took to social media on Saturday when she first noticed the 17-year-old was seizing over and over, asking followers for help.
But it was when she took to her Instagram Story to share video of her Cookie going through it for 45 minutes that she received a lot of backlash.

Telling her fans on Twitter the nearest vet is 45 minutes away, some were confused she wasn’t calling the emergency vet for help and was instead seemingly live tweeting the situation.
She shared:
What do i do when dog seizure???

It’s clear what’ll happen, but panic/trauma w 7 yr old is a lot. Constant seizures for 45 mins in car to vet 45 mins away. #sadhelpless

The businesswoman even responded to some of the backlash, writing:
Bc u cannot call dog 911, so I needed you. I literally didn’t know if lifting her would kill her or if she’d swallow tongue @krtrmom

And clarified they almost immediately drove to the vet when she noticed her poor pup was having a seizure:
We did 3 mins into foaming/seizure.Holding 30lb convulsing dog w 7 yr old&driving w bone in dying dog’s mouth is rough #dontjudge @pukiiob

But the reality TV starlet was still called out for taking to social media in the first place, with even guest host Eve of The Talk sounding off:
Unfortunately, Bethenny’s little girl didn’t make it in the end after suffering a couple more seizures:
My baby had 2 more seizures last PM. My heart is broken.

We are so sorry for her loss!
The pain of losing a pet is unimaginable.
Bethenny appeared with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live on Monday night, speaking on her heartbreaking loss:
“Everyone said [Cookie]’s at the rainbow bridge. I don’t know where that is but I want to go.”
