Bill Murray is finally opening up about that wild Kelis story!
In case you didn’t hear, in the summer of 2023 the Caddyshack actor was caught up in some romance rumors with Kelis. Yes, that Kelis! The one whose Milkshake brings all the boys to the yard! The unlikely duo had been photographed together and were said to be hanging out and forming a pretty close relationship… for a while. It all came crashing down in August 2023. By then, sources were saying the 45-year-old DUMPED the ghostbuster, ending their supposed age-gap relationship.

Now, almost two years later, the 74-year-old is FINALLY addressing what really happened between them. While speaking on SiriusXM‘s Sway in the Morning Friday, Bill dished he got some pretty good “cred” for all the rumors:
“I met this girl named Kelis. I got great press that I was dating her. That really raised my cred a lot.”
The actor also admitted he first laid eyes on Kelis in the 1999 music video for Got Your Money:
“I’m going: ‘Who is the girl with the red hair?’ And it was Kelis, so I decided to meet her sometime. She turns out to be spectacular. And actually I spoke with her recently, she bought land in Africa, in Kenya.”
Aww! An unlikely friendship, but we love it!
And, in case you weren’t reading between the lines, Bill answered the question plainly. When asked if he and the singer were ever really an item, he said:
“No.”
But that doesn’t mean it’ll never happen! He joked:
“Y’know, one of us could be on the rebound any second.”
