The One Company That Stood By O'Reilly Has Now Pulled Out! Wait, HOW MANY Ads Ran On Thursday's Episode?!

no title
The number of advertisers who have fled from Fox News over Bill O’Reilly‘s sexual harassment scandal continues to grow.
Over 50 companies have now pulled their ads from The O’Reilly Factor — even a couple who had already refused to advertise on his show!
But one company was standing by O’Reilly, or at the very least refusing to take a stance.

Angie’s List (kind of like Yelp for plumbers, contractors, etc) released a statement on Tuesday saying they would not bow to public pressure:

“We do not have plans to change our ad buy. The advertising strategy we have long used at Angie’s List is meant to reach as many people as possible with news that our service exists and is available to them. We place ads across a wide spectrum of venues intending to reach as many viewers/listeners/readers as possible without taking a position on the viewpoints of the venues themselves. Just as we trust members to make their own hiring decisions, we trust them to make their own media consumption decisions.”

But a couple days of social media savagery seems to have changed that.
Consumers let Angie’s List know in no uncertain terms on Twitter how the decision not to drop O’Reilly — essentially choosing profits over ethics — would actually affect their bottom line:

Now Angie’s List has confirmed to multiple news outlets that they would no longer be running advertisements on the program.
We guess users made their own decisions after all?
Fun fact: only SEVEN total advertisements ran during The O’Reilly Factor on Thursday.
The show was interrupted in its second half by breaking news (Donald Trump being much, much worse), but the show ordinarily shows around 40 ads.
Na na na na, hey hey hey, Bill!
