The Another Simple Favor director is stepping into the Blake Lively drama!
As we’ve been following, Anna Kendrick has been very tactfully walking the tightrope of discussing her embattled co-star Blake. At the SXSW premiere of Another Simple Favor on Friday, the Pitch Perfect star was asked what it means to be “working with Blake again,” and she shadily responded:
“Oh, you know…”
She then proceeded to walk away without ever finishing her sentence, leaving it up to the internet to fill in the blank on how she may be feeling! See (below):

Later during an interview with Variety, she was asked to comment “everything that’s going on in the world” impacting the release of her and Blake’s film — clearly alluding to the It Ends with Us situation — and Anna had the following to say:
“Why, what happened? I did ayahuasca, and the last year of my life is just gone. But I’ve heard the movie’s amazing.”
HA! Smart answer. We mean, who would want to get involved in such a messy situation if they don’t have to, right? Anna is clearly trying to avoid it like the plague — well, as much as she can as Blake’s co-star! But whether she likes it or not, her responses have sparked a whole lot of speculation online about the two ladies’ relationship and all the contention that seemingly exists. But director Paul Feig swears it doesn’t!
On Friday, YouTube star and social media influencer Melanie King took to X (Twitter) to claim “Anna is pissed and never wants to work with [Blake] again.” She wrote:
“Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick before they walk the red [carpet] at the sxsw Another Simple Favor premiere. I just reported on Blake being terrified to walk the carpet as Anna is pissed and never wants to work with her again”
And Paul responded!
Quoting the post, he wrote in direct response:
“Um … you’re wrong.”
Wow! Bold! See (below):

Damn! So point blank! He clearly doesn’t want the stank of Blake’s drama permeating his own movie. We can’t really blame the dude, though… He will directly profit from from its success! So if putting up a mirage of friendliness is what he feels he needs to do to achieve that, then that’s what he’s going to do! That’s what’s best for business!
What are your thoughts, Perezcious readers?? Do you believe Paul, or is he just trying to protect his film? Let us know in the comments down below!
