UPDATE, 1:45 p.m. ET — TMZ has obtained Bow Wow’s mugshot, which you can see HERE. Obviously, it shows big scratches on the rapper’s forehead, as well as some kind of a spot near his eye.
Per the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office speaking to the media outlet, the rapper has officially been charged with Battery Substantial Physical Harm, which sounds a lot more serious than the “misdemeanor” battery charges that were reported earlier.
Hmmm…
The woman is apparently an on-again, off-again girlfriend.
Bow Wow’s bond has reportedly been set at $8,000 — no word yet on whether he made it out of jail or if he’s still sitting in Fulton County lock-up.

Bow Wow isn’t have the best time at this weekend’s Super Bowl festivities.
The rapper was arrested in Atlanta just hours ago and charged with misdemeanor battery for allegedly beating a woman during some type of incident overnight.

Per TMZ, the woman — identified as Leslie Holden — was also arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery, after cops found marks and “visible injuries” on both parties.
Per sources, cops apparently showed up at 4:15 a.m. to a place where Bow Wow and the woman were arguing; both claimed the other person had assaulted them, and cops couldn’t get to the bottom of who was the true aggressor.
Because of the visible injuries on each party, cops took both Holden and Bow Wow into custody; TMZ “cannot find any relationship” between the pair, so it’s unclear how Bow Wow knows the woman.
Regardless, it’s less than ideal for the rapper, considering this weekend is supposed to be about fun and the Super Bowl.
Instead, Bow Wow will have to spend it bailing himself outta jail and dealing with the aftermath of the misdemeanor charge.
