Britney Spears got in trouble for causing a commotion on a flight back into the States on Thursday!
According to TMZ intel, the singer was on a private jet from vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to LAX this week with her security team when she started drinking — and then lit a cigarette and started smoking on the plane! A big no-no, even on most private jets due to safety concerns! Multiple sources said flight attendants were “alarmed” by her behavior and told her to put the cigarette out, which Brit ultimately did.
That said, the 43-year-old was so “difficult” on the flight that authorities were called. When the plane touched down in California, officials met up with her and gave her a stern warning. She was then free to leave without any other repercussions.

Interestingly, LAX police insisted they were not the ones who responded to the incident. It appears it may have been an official from Customs who gave the A-lister a talking-to. A spokesperson for JSX, the private plane service Britney used, had “no comment on the alleged events described” when contacted by the outlet. BTW, while some private jets actually do allow smoking, judging by the flight attendants’ response, this wasn’t the case on this trip!
So, what was going on? Did Britney not realize what she was doing? Was she trying to cause trouble? It’s hard to know, but it adds to concerns about her well-being. Sources claimed Britney’s mental health issues have continued to be a daily issue for those in her inner circle since her conservatorship was shut down — something many in her life don’t think should’ve happened. One insider complained:
“The judge went so Hollywood, ignoring all of the medical reports in front of her and just bent to the Free Britney people outside the courthouse.”
Oof. We’d like to think getting out of the allegedly toxic legal arrangement was a good thing — Britney certainly thinks so — but it’s not great to hear her mental health is reportedly still such a problem… At least this airplane incident didn’t escalate to something more serious!
