Britney Spears stans are questioning the motives of her ever-supportive boyfriend Sam Asghari!
The model sat down with ET for his very first TV interview to promote his first film Can You Keep a Secret?, and Sam’s desire to make a name for himself in Hollywood outside of being “Britney Spears’ boyfriend” was revealed.
GASP!
During the interview, the 25-year-old opened up about his “normal” relationship with the superstar and how they support each other in their careers. But after he spoke a bit about his hopes for a career in showbiz, Brit’s fans started raising their eyebrows — and now wonder if the hunk is dating the singer for clout.

The dragging began when Sam posted a snippet of his ET interview, causing Godney worshippers to drop comments like:
“What a surprise that @samasghari wants to become an actor. Maybe this is why he has stayed with Brittany [sic] so long, to help his career??”
“I really hope he is not using Britney to benefit himself/his career. Thats the feeling im getting.”
“They had you on the show to talk about Britney lol. Don’t get it twisted.”
“Uh yeah…your “acting career” ….that’s why they wanted to talk to you.”
When the tide turns, it turns fast!
As for what specifically pissed off The Britney Army? The fact Sam said he wanted to be the next Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, for starters.
When asked by the interviewer if he sees himself as “sort of like the next generation of The Rock,” Brit’s BF replied:
“Exactly, [that’s] what we’re going for, absolutely!”
Hey… if you’re gonna dream, dream big!
While Brit’s fans may not approve of Sam’s career goals, the personal trainer said he very much considers himself a professional actor. He added:
“Hardest thing for me is really sticking to the work. It’s the hardest and the easiest thing. I constantly have to remind myself that I’m in this professionally… I think I’ve been on more than 1,000 auditions and really booked a few — but that’s the mental factor of it. I deal with it [by taking] the points, I write down all the things that I did wrong at the audition, and I become better for the next one.”
And, for the record, the Toxic singer is fully supportive of her man’s acting endeavors. According to Sam, she even helps him run lines!
He said:
“Yesterday I did an audition and she helped me with it. She’s great.”
Sounds like she’s on board with it!

Naturally, the subject of Sam’s relationship with the 37-year-old also came up during the interview. When asked if he hoped to one day marry the Pop Princess, he said:
“Absolutely. This is something that every couple should do. That’s the whole point of a relationship — we are a family.”
While they aren’t ready for marriage just yet, the couple — who were first linked in 2016 after meeting on the set of her Slumber Party video — are definitely on that road. As we reported, Sam has been a pillar of support for Britney over the last year throughout her mental health treatment and her ongoing conservatorship battle.
Although he’s received a lot of attention since dating the superstar, Sam said he’s staying focused on his goals, adding:
“I do appreciate my life at the moment and as long as you stick to your goal and really not let the attention really bother you, I think you should be fine.”
