Britney Spears Accuses Dad Of Wasting $30 Million On Conservatorship As Court Decides If She’ll Have To Pay For HIS Legal Fees

Britney Spears is not done fighting for herself in court!

On Tuesday, Brit’s legal team filed claims of financial misconduct against her father, James “Jamie” P. Spears. As Perezcious readers know, last year after he was terminated from his role as conservator, the controversial patriarch petitioned to have his oldest daughter pay for all his legal fees associated with the conservatorship, which he was in charge of since its establishment in 2008. Before the court convenes on Wednesday for a hearing, Brit’s fighting back!

Making her case on why she shouldn’t be forced to do such a thing, the pop star, with the help of her lawyer Mathew Rosengart, alleged that the 69-year-old has spent millions of her hard-earned cash while serving as her conservator, spending over $30 million in the process!

First off, the court docs claim that Jamie paid nearly $6 million from the singer’s estate to a firm called Black Box Security that allegedly spied on her phone records to obtain information about her and family members, including mother Lynne Spears. Actions that could have “criminal implications,” according to former FBI special agent Sherine Ebadi. He also used the money for personal benefits, such as allegedly trying to start his career by pitching a cooking show titled Cookin’ Cruzin’ & Chaos with James Spears.

The document goes on to allege that the businessman spent $1.5 million of his daughter’s money to maintain her Louisiana home — and then he sold it to himself! WTF? The Circus crooner’s team filed a statement from Ebadi who claimed that Jamie engaged in “self-dealing.” According to the report, Britney purchased a plot of land in Kentwood, Louisiana in 2002 for $56,000 through a limited liability company named Bridgemore Timber. It’s the same land where the family’s home was built. In 2017, Jamie asked the court if he could purchase the property since it was a tax burden. Ebadi claimed Jamie then sold the property (along with two other pieces of land) for $275,000 last year.

And these are just the most notable examples of alleged financial misconduct! Over the years, he ended up taking nearly $36 million from the estate, according to the filing. Crazy.

While the father’s lawyer Alex Weingarten is arguing that his client’s legal fees should be paid for by the performer’s estate because Jamie supposedly did not do anything wrong, Rosengart strongly disagrees. He’s calling for the court to reject Jamie’s petition in light of the misconduct allegations, stating:

“[The allegations are] specific, credible and serious, ranging from abuse to conflicts of interest, financial mismanagement and corruption of the conservatorship to implicating state and federal criminal law.”

Rosengart also insisted that Spears should hire a less expensive legal counsel he can actually afford rather than continue to steal his child’s funds. A Los Angeles judge terminated the conservatorship in November, after first stripping Spears of his conservator role in September. For 13 years, though, he had control over the mom of two’s financial and personal affairs… and Britney is just beginning to truly speak her mind about the trauma she’s endured during that time.

A Los Angeles court is expected to hear Jamie’s petition in a hearing later today. Here’s to hoping he isn’t granted any more of his daughter’s money!!
