Captive Tigers: Many Live In Terrible Conditions

Captive Tigers: Many Live In Terrible Conditions

tiger plays in zoo

Just because tigers are living in captivity, it does not mean that they are safe!

A recent study done found that among the 5,000 tigers in captivity, less than 500 actually live in habitat environments at respectable zoos.

There are many tigers that are living in small cages in terrible conditions, such as inbreeding, cross breeding with other big cats and, for most tiger cubs, sale as pets.

Big Cat Rescue has found out that there are more tigers in these bad conditions and being kept as pets in the U.S.A than there are tigers in the wild in Asia! Terrible!

Since people can not often care for such big cats, these tigers are very likely to be killed and have their parts sold since there is a lot of money in the tiger trade.

This is so heartbreaking to hear. We need to stop the cruel things being done to tigers and make sure they do not disappear!

What do U think about this??
