Chris Colfer Talks About His Movie, Struck By Lightening

Oh good! We’ve been waiting to hear some news on this project! We’re glad to hear that this is still happening!

For those Gleeks who aren’t in the know (and we venture to guess there aren’t many of you), Chris Colfer wrote a screenplay for a movie called Struck By Lightening that was picked up last year and was in the midst of preproduction the last we heard. Of course, Chris has been SUPER busy the last few months with Glee, so not much headway has been made with the flick. However, in a recent interview, he did give an update that revealed when production will get underway. He explained:

“It├óΓé¼Γäós the most exciting and the most terrifying thing I├óΓé¼Γäóve ever done. It├óΓé¼Γäós very strange to be so active behind the camera (taking meetings, making calls, etc.). I held a meeting in my trailer once during the Rocky Horror episode, so I was in complete Riff-Raff make-up. I don├óΓé¼Γäót think anyone took me seriously. We have an amazing team working on the movie. David Permut is producing (Youth in Revolt, Charlie Bartlett) and Brian Dannelly is directing (Saved!). We├óΓé¼Γäóre casting my character├óΓé¼Γäós parents right now (which feels like reverse adoption) and we start filming the day after my last stop on the Glee 2011 tour. I wrote it for the kids in high school who are overachieving in their own right and underappreciated for it, just like I was.

Excellent! We’re so please to hear its all coming together!

But no break? Poor thing, you’ll be exhausted from touring the world over! At least take a day or two to sleep before jumping into this! You deserve that much!
