Chrissy Teigen & John Legend SLAM Conservative Critic's Racist Tweet About Bong Joon-Ho's Oscar Win!

Chrissy Tiegen calls out critic's racist tweet about Bong Joon-Ho's Oscar win

For conservative critics, the Oscars aren’t so much a celebration of storytelling and filmmaking as they are an excuse to bash Hollywood royalty for being rich, pretty, and… Korean, apparently?

At least that’s what BlazeTV host Jon Miller insinuated when he tweeted out a complaint about Bong Joon-Ho’s Best Original Screenplay win for Parasite at the 2020 Academy Awards on Sunday.

After the beloved South Korean director gave his speech in his native language with the help of an English translator following one of his film’s historic four wins, the reporter cried on Twitter:

“A man named Bong Joon Ho wins #Oscar for best original screenplay over Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and 1917. Acceptance speech was: ‘GREAT HONOR. THANK YOU.’ Then he proceeds to give the rest of his speech in Korean. These people are the destruction of America.”

Yup. This grown man just insinuated that foreign creatives are “the destruction of America.” Sure, he quickly protected himself with some Kellyanne Conway-esque tweet-craft by liking a post from an ally insinuating the “these people” was in reference to “Hollywood” people (sure, Jan), but y’all better believe hundreds of Miller’s followers took his words at xenophobic face value.

It’s the frustrating design of Twitter that we really can’t do much about. We can, however, publicly call Miller out for his public ignorance — which is exactly what Chrissy Teigen and John Legend did shortly after.

The model was the first to strike, and she didn’t hold back. Teigen tweeted:

“What a dumb f**king tool you are, your family is embarrassed. At gatherings they’re literally like ‘how’s Jon doing that little dumb f**k tool’ and everyone goes ‘yeah we don’t care he’s a f**king dumb s**t’ – come say hi if you’re out tonight… going as hard as your dick got watching joker.”

Ha! Got him!

And no, we don’t think it’s bullying when it’s a response to someone actually being a bully.

Chrissy’s husband also chimed in, asking Miller:

“Do they pay you for these dumb takes or is this something you do for fun”

Probably both, John. Probably both.

Haters aside, it was a historic night for both the Oscars and South Koreans when Parasite became the first ever foreign language film to win Best Picture. Joon-ho also won for Best Director and Best Screenplay, and the film also won the Best Foreign Language Film category.

We think whoever wins an Oscar should be able to speak in whatever language they want to. Do U agree, Perezcious readers?

If you haven’t seen Bong’s inspiring speech yet, ch-ch-check it out (below).
