The cause of Cory Monteith‘s death is still unknown, but it is known that he struggled with addiction in the past.
And this matter hits home for Matthew Perry who has been open and honest about his addiction issues during the height of his fame on Friends.
Hearing that this young actor might have passed away due to those same issues has left Matthew unable to see any light at the end of the tunnel in this tragedy.
In fact, he was apparently left fairly speechless when asked about it as he said:
“When something like this happens, it’s so sad and tragic… it’s just sad and tragic. The upside of it, I can’t even talk about because there is no upside to this man losing his life.”
We couldn’t agree more.
We can only hope that if his addiction issues were involved that others are able to learn to reach out for help if they need it.
