Former Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member Danielle Staub has walked away from her deal with Scores Gentleman’s Club to make appearances as an exotic dancer, and claims to be seeking out the help of Dr. Drew to treat her many deep, psychological issues.
She explains:
“I have addictions with love and low self-esteem, and I need help! My low self-esteem, derived from childhood sexual abuse, has messed with my mind and self-worth, and over the years I thought about getting help but pushed it deep into the depths of denial. For years I have had the suicide hotline on my cell phone and would like nothing more than to free myself from this constant pressure. Seeing how I have hurt myself and my family this time. I can no longer push it behind me. I have to own my mistakes and can’t blame others.”
Wow. Did she actually just take responsibility for her own behavior?
We’re absolutely flabbergasted! Maybe she’s serious!
In all sincerity, we do certainly hope she is, and that this is not just another publicity stunt to keep her in the press.
Anyone who has seen an episode of her on the reality series knows just how serious her mental illness is – even if she still doesn’t – and we think that regardless of what prompted this decision, it’s for the best!
We just hope her two girls are doing all right! Those poor things have been through so much!
