Stephen Colbert Announced As The Next Host Of The Late Show!

WOW! This was actually totally unexpected news!!!
It was just announced via CBS Entertainment that David Letterman‘s Late Show successor will be none other than Stephen Colbert!
Solid choice for sure — but surprising as hell as well!
Does this mean the end of The Colbert Report? What happen with Chelsea Handler? Were there ever even talks with her?
One big question answered, but so many, many to follow!
UPDATE: Stephen has just released a statement, staying:

“Simply being a guest on David Letterman’s show has been a highlight of my career. never dreamed that I would follow in his footsteps, though everyone in late night follows Dave’s lead.”
