Betsy DeVos‘ Education Department is already off to a GREAT start. NOT!
Over the weekend, the Department of Education took to Twitter to share some inspiring words by historian W.E.B. Du Bois — only they totally butchered the civil rights activist’s name. Smh.

The department posted:

C’mon, guys. You’re the department of EDUCATION, spelling is supposed to be your forte. Obviously, people had A LOT to say about the social media blunder (below).

@usedgov OMG, it’s DuBois. Who is in charge over there?…oh, wait, I get it.

I’m sure there will be an “alternative spelling” explanation from this administration. https://t.co/2wbfgGaV5p

How’s that Department of Education job working out #BetsyDeVos ? You couldn’t spell check “Du Bois” before you tweeted?├░┼╕╦£┼╛ #BlackHistoryMonth pic.twitter.com/9nvxMTr6tS

Black History Month tally: Trump resurrected Fred Douglass, Pence turned Lincoln black, Devos turned DuBois into a typo. With 16 days left.

Of course, this error comes shortly after Betsy was controversially appointed as the Secretary of Education… a position she is seemingly unqualified for. While DeVos’ team tried to apologize for the mistake, they faced ANOTHER typo as they wrote:
“Post updated – our deepest apologizes for the earlier typo.”
Talk about a face palm moment. The team has since deleted that embarrassing message and replaced it with:
Post updated – our deepest apologies for the earlier typo.

Thankfully, followers didn’t let the department off the hook as they were dragged (again) for their inability to spell.
@usedgov bruh. Cmon. pic.twitter.com/INFYrJERIr

@usedgov I love that your initial apology for a typo included a typo. We don’t need any further proof that DeVos runs this account.

.@usedgov sorry, but we’re never letting this go pic.twitter.com/aj8uC9M3Ib

@usedgov the U.S department of education took 3 times to do something right that was equal to a third grade spelling bee pic.twitter.com/qoRmC3YRTg
