Derek Jeter Doesn't Want To Be An 'Eligible Bachelor' Now That He's Done With The Pros

Derek Jeter
Well this seems out of left field.
As you probably know by now, Derek Jeter has officially retired from Major League Baseball.
After spending 19 seasons with the New York Yankees, Derek may be off the diamond, but one place he doesn’t want to go is the dating pool.
Probably because he’s in a relationship with Hannah Davis!
During an interview with Matt Lauer, the 40-year-old ex-captain/shortstop opened up about his dating life, saying:

“I’ve always drawn the line between what I do for a profession and my private life. I think once you open that door, you can’t shut it.
It’s funny, because someone had mentioned to me [that] I went from an old man in baseball to a young man in life. And I liked how that sounded. So, I consider myself young again.”

Such a positive outlook on something that could cause anyone some stress!
The TODAY host told Derek that since George Clooney is off the market, that Derek should step in as Hollywood’s resident ‘Most Eligible Bachelor.’

But Derek said that he isn’t ready to focus on dating too far out in the public eye just yet.
We bet he’s too nervous wondering if he’ll make the Hall of Fame or not!
