Donna Murphy better be dusting off that witch’s hat of hers!
The Tony Award-winner has just been confirmed to play the witch in the Delacorte Theater summer production, Into The Woods, taking place in Central Park!
The musical, from Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine, combines multiple Brothers Grimm fairytale characters into one SPELLBINDING tale!
Fairytales aren’t TOO unfamiliar to Murphy — in 2010, she played Mother Gothel in the animated Disney flick, Tangled!
Other cast members include Amy Adams as the baker’s wife, Jack Broderick as narrator, Jessie Mueller as Cinderella and Ivan Hernandez as Cinderella’s prince!
For those of you not as well-versed with Donna’s Broadway accomplishments, you may know her better from her role as the ballet teacher in Center Stage or as ScarJo‘s mom in The Nanny Diaries.
Into The Woods is set to start previews on July 23 for five weeks and then will officially open on August 9!
