Dove Cameron is reeling over the loss of her beloved friend and Disney Channel costar.
The Descendants actress broke her silence on the tragic death of Cameron Boyce on Tuesday night in a six-part Instagram video that showed her struggling to get through an emotional handwritten note to the late actor and his family.
The Liv and Maddie star kicked off her message by explaining how it took her three days to speak about the 20-year-old’s death because she couldn’t come to terms with it. After talking about it in therapy, however, Cameron said she felt it was important for her to be “expressive and connective” with her feelings.

The 23-year-old went on to express her condolences to Boyce’s family. While getting choked up, she said to his parents and sister:
“You are all I can think about. My heart aches for you, I’m broken for you. I have close to nothing left, which tells me some small percentage about how you must be feeling.”
The actress then spoke on just how special Boyce, whom she called an “earth angel,” really was, detailing some of the many ways the actor helped her throughout their six-year friendship.
She recounted:
“Cameron was one of my favorite people alive in the world. Though I know that’s not unique to me, Cameron was magic — an earth angel. Over the last six years, since he was only 14, Cameron talked me down from countless ledges, talked me through eating disorders, helped me out of a dark relationship and through endless breakdowns.”
Cameron later called her Descendants cast mate “undoubtedly the most talented person most of us will ever know,” adding he “was always good and kind,” “selfless and generous,” and “an ultimate example of a human being.”
She concluded, tearfully:
“Goodbye my dear, dear friend and brother. You leave behind a colossal wake, a profound chasm that can never be filled, but you also leave millions and millions of deeply impacted, hope-filled and loved-filled human beings who are who they are because of you and how you spent your brief 20 years on this Earth.
What a gift you were; you turned the world on its head. We can all only hope to be half the human that you were and you deserved so much more time … I will spend the rest of my life missing and loving you, and I’m all the better for knowing you.”

Dove is just the latest of Boyce’s costars to speak out on his tragic death. As we reported, Adam Sandler, who played the late star’s father in the movie Grown Ups, also paid tribute to the late star.
Meanwhile, Boyce’s family has shed more light on the cause of his death, telling press it was due to a seizure as a result of an ongoing medical condition they have identified as epilepsy.

The family spokesperson said in a statement to ABC News:
“Cameron’s tragic passing was due to a seizure as a result of an ongoing medical condition, and that condition was Epilepsy. We are still trying to navigate our way through this extremely heart wrenching time, and continue to ask for privacy so that the family, and all who knew and loved him can grieve his loss and make arrangements for his funeral–which in and of itself, is agonizing.”

Shortly after Boyce’s death on Saturday, the family announced the death was due to “an ongoing medical condition” and “a seizure.”
However, the official cause of death has yet to be determined. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner revealed while an autopsy has been completed, the case has officially been deferred pending further investigation.
