Either this is another he said, she said debacle or we finally know the truth about the whole Ellie Goulding–Ed Sheeran–Niall Horan love triangle!
Last year, when the ginger Jesus released his single Don’t, there was a LOT of speculation that it was about his relationship with Ellie and her running off to sleep with the Irish member of One Direction.

Ever since that speculation grew, Teddy revealed that the whole thing was actually not true and was just blown out of proportion.
The Thinking Out Loud crooner did, however, confirm that he had a brief relationship with her.
However, in the Love Me Like You Do singer’s issue of Elle UK, she denies any and all romantical rumors with Ed.
The 28-year-old said:
“I did go on a few dates with Niall but I was never in a relationship with Ed. I have absolutely no idea where that came from and why it was turned into such a big thing. I find it so frustrating that female musicians are constantly defined by the men they have or haven’t dated. It’s something I’ve talked about with [Taylor Swift] a lot. She definitely feels that. She gets bothered by it. It’s like, you can be a great artist, you can write great songs, but the thing that everyone is going to talk about is some relationship they think you have had or not had. It’s definitely something we both think happens to female artists over male artists.”
Guess friends do hold hands in Ellie’s mind, sorry if you got the wrong message, Ed!

As sad as it is, the singer and Tay Tay are totally right about gals getting more flack about their dating life than guys do!
At least Ellie doesn’t really let the dating rumors get to her publicly — not like she has to worry about that, she has a loving man in her life and we have a feeling it’ll be that way for a while!
