William + Kate's First Official Public Event Planned For Next Week

We haven’t seen much of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge since their wedding last month. We’re not surprised, of course – newlyweds need their alone time – but we were starting to get curious about when they’d step out for the first time at a public event as a married couple. Why? Because we’re suckers for the fairytale, that’s why! Those crazy kids are living a magical dream and we just want to watch it unfold! Aaah! Lurve!!!

Anywhos, we finally got an answer this morning as the Palace announced the young couple plan to step out next week to make their first official appearance at the 10th Absolute Return for Kids gala dinner, a benefit for the foundation started by Prince William and his brother, Harry. On Thursday, the royal couple and several honored guests will attend the affair at Perks Field, steps from Kensington Palace where William grew up, co-hosted by another wonderful organization, Ark. According to palace officials, the princes’ foundation and ARK “share a common vision and commitment to transform the lives of disadvantaged children in the U.K. and around the world.” That being said, it is likely that Prince William will make an announcement about a collaboration between the two philanthropic to benefit many of the prince’s other causes close to his heart.

Honeymoon’s over – but we don’t think Prince William minds too much. We bet he’s nothing but pleased to get back to helping those less fortunate that himself, and with his wife, Kate Middleton, by his side no less.
