FKA twigs has bravely chosen to open up about her recent health struggles.
Late on Tuesday evening, the Good To Love singer took to Instagram to reveal that she underwent laparoscopic surgery in December, in order to have SIX fibroid tumors removed from her uterus. Per the British songstress, the growths were comparable to two apples, three kiwis, and a couple of strawberries.

As FKA twigs was in “a fruit bowl of pain everyday,” it isn’t shocking to learn that what was removed was equivalent to “being 6 months pregnant.” Sadly, this ordeal took a toll on her psyche, as she “felt really alone” and her “confidence as a woman was knocked.” The singer-songwriter, who split from fianc├â┬⌐ Robert Pattinson last year, seriously struggled with whether or not to speak out about her hardship.
Thankfully, a recent dance session reminded the 30-year-old how “strong” she is and inspired her to speak out. You can see some of the choreography and the 30-year-old’s full confession for yourself (below)!
dear friends, I am a very private person as u all know and I have gone back and forth in my mind whether to share that this year I have been recovering from laparoscopic surgery to remove 6 fibroid tumours from my uterus. the tumours were pretty huge, the size of 2 cooking apples ├░┼╕┬ì┼╜ ├░┼╕┬ì┼╜, 3 kiwis ├░┼╕┬Ñ┬¥ ├░┼╕┬Ñ┬¥ ├░┼╕┬Ñ┬¥ and a couple of ├░┼╕┬ìΓÇ£├░┼╕┬ìΓÇ£. a fruit bowl of pain everyday. the nurse said that the weight and size was like being 6 months pregnant. I tried to be brave but it was excruciating at times and to be honest I started to doubt if my body would ever feel the same again.
