Freddie Prinze Jr. is side-eyeing allllll the celebs who claim they just can’t get away from the paps!
On Monday, the I Know What You Did Last Summer star opened up about consciously choosing to lead a more private life with his wife Sarah Michelle Gellar. According to him, YOU control how often you’re spotted out and about in public — despite what some other celebs may tell you! Oh yeah, and it’s EASY, too!

The 48-year-old explained on Brian Austin Green‘s Oldish podcast on Monday:
“I don’t know how deliberate [other celebrities] are in trying to avoid that BS. I know how easy it’s been for us because I don’t go anywhere. I don’t go to parties. People don’t see Sarah and I out and about at the popular places.”
But they aren’t recluses or anything! They just don’t go to the hot spots! He added:
“We have our restaurants that we like, and they’re not super trendy in places where paparazzi hang out. So we’re good at avoiding it.”
Soooo, what he’s saying is all the other celebs who complain about how difficult it is to step out of their mansions without being bombarded with camera flashes… are lying?? Yeah, pretty much! He certainly is implying at least some of these celebs choose to stage paparazzi swarms! He told his fellow ’90s icon he’s “not trying to s**t on anyone,” but that it’s just “not that hard to avoid.”
Well, it’s probably a LOT easier for him and Sarah to avoid given they’re not as active in Hollywood as they once were… Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, on the other hand, they’re a (former) couple who had EVERY pap in town tracking them down for pics for months now!
Chappell Roan says it’s like that for her, too! She’s one of the biggest new stars to come out of 2024 and has been very vocal about her difficulty managing the new boundaries — or lack thereof — she experiences when encountering fans out in the wild. But is she the type of celeb he’s shading here? Hmm…
The Scooby-Doo star added:
“There’s times where [paparazzi] wait at the bottom of our street, but there’s people that are way more famous than me on my street. So I’ll just make sure they leave first. They’ll go follow Schwarzenegger and leave me alone. You know what I mean? There’s no secret to it and it wasn’t hard. We just don’t like that life, you know?”
