The glamorous Miz Janet Jackson is no longer with her label, Island Def Jam Music Group.
Was she dropped????
Janet isn’t the one releasing this info, though.
We’re learning of the split from producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins.
Janet is now a free agent and Darkchild has confirmed the news during a recent video blog.
So the rumors have been put to rest, and we’re now being told that she’s been released from her contract, which she had signed in 2007.
Darkchild says, “We didn’t get the support from the record company.”
Always blame the label!
He adds that Janet “felt like it wasn’t pushed. I felt like it wasn’t pushed correctly. She just didn’t get her just-do as an artist of that magnitude.”
As for her future, he says “I could make an album with her, possibly me, Jimmy Jam, and Terry Lewis. Keep it real simple. They focus on what they’re great at, I focus on what I’m great at. We come together and make a classic Janet record.”
Maybe Janet should skip the label system altogether???
Release the next album yourself! Hire people yourself. Then, if it fails, you have no one to blame but yourself.
