Joseph Duggar‘s aunt Deanna wants his wife Kendra to run. And run fast.
As you know, Joseph was arrested and booked into prison after he allegedly admitted to molesting a 9-year-old back in 2020. After his arrest, his family reacted — and a lot of them seemed pretty shocked.
But Deanna is speaking out more than just from shock alone. In fact, she’s encouraging Kendra to divorce him. Jim Bob Duggar‘s sister told PageSix in a statement on Tuesday:
“The way I feel about it is, I think Kendra should divorce him. She needs a new life. The best thing to do would be to divorce him and go on with her life.”
Of course, it’s worth noting Kendra herself was also arrested! It’s unclear what exactly is going on, but she racked up some child endangerment charges — although some sources have claimed that they’re unrelated to the alleged 2020 molestation.

But anyways, as of right now, Deanna is team Kendra:
“I don’t know what the charges are going to be for Kendra. I don’t know, we’re all waiting to see. While my heart goes out to her, I know there has been some wrong decisions. My prayers are for the victims. For Kendra, for Joseph, for the whole family, wake up and repent of their pride, their feeling of the world is against them, get things right in their family…”
Well, is it really that unjustified for the world to be against them? Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, of course. But with these allegations, in the court of public opinion… oof.
Anyway, Deanna said she hadn’t seen Joseph in “a few years” when he was arrested:
“I went into shock. I couldn’t believe it was Joseph. This is so horrible to hear this again in the family.”
Even with it all, she wants to know “what is really going on” behind closed doors:
“I am like everyone else watching the news and going, ‘How can this happen again?’ I want people to know I am so burdened in my heart for the victims. That sweet innocent girl who didn’t deserve this at all. It’s awful and horrendous. I am so baffled by everything that has happened. I have been walking around for days in shock. I pray justice is served. This travesty is beyond me.”
Joseph’s aunt said he was “always so loving and kind” and that she feels like a “piece of [her] heart is missing”:
“I never dreamed in a million of years this would happen. I pray authorities get to the bottom of it.”
In her final thoughts, Deanna says she just hopes Joseph “gets help” through “rehabilitation.”
